KARL STORZ trocars and cannulae are instruments designed to provide access to the abdominal cavity. Trocars are available with either sharp or blunt distal ends. Cannulae are available in a number of configurations including those with rigid and flexible shafts, and those with automatic trap doors, multifunction valves or trumpet valves.

The trocars are designed to puncture tissue to make an incision to allow insertion of cannulae.

Cannulae allow passage of endoscopes and instruments into the peritoneal cavity, sinuses, thoracic cavity and other parts of the body.
